Alec’s First Cross Country Meet

Alec had his first Cross Country meet of the season today. It was also his first meet ever, as this is his first year doing Cross Country. This particular meet was at home against Kyrene Middle School (KMS). I’m happy to say that both the Pueblo girls and boys had an impressive victory against the scorpions of KMS and Alec did an excellent job! Go Bulldogs! I thought it was going to be brutally hot, but about an hour before the meet we had a light sprinkling of rain that was just enough to cool it off to a bearable level.

This week we finally had some good monsoon thunderstorms roll through the valley! The mesquite tree in my front yard didn’t fare so well…at least now I don’t have to trim it as much!

Carlsbad 2008 Slideshow

We recently returned from our annual trip to Carlsbad and I put together a little slide show with various highlights. All the usual suspects were there this year along with a few additions: My sister Tracey came out from Virginia with her (somewhat extended) family and my friend Lauren came out from Tucson for the final few days. This year for us was beach, beach and more beach…no theme parks or fishing. We did manage to hit most of our favorite eateries like Taisho Sushi, Knockout Burger, Pizza Port, and last but not least…Super Donuts (best fritters in the world!). So without further ado…
