This week we finally had some good monsoon thunderstorms roll through the valley! The mesquite tree in my front yard didn’t fare so well…at least now I don’t have to trim it as much!

5 to 6 hours worth….Oh Joy!

So today I joined Angie’s List. For those unfamiliar, this is a subscription service that provides user reviews for various home services. What predicated signing up for Angie’s List was an extremely frustrating attempt at a sprinkler repair. After several iterations and multiple trips to Home Depot, I cried “uncle” and decided to call in for reinforcements. On Angie’s list I found Lyle Percival and Co. Lyle did an excellent job repairing the multiple leaks in my sprinkler system, in the 110 degree heat…and he did it for a more than reasonable price. So now I’m sold on Angie’s List!

Tonight I installed a new fairing on my bike. I was lucky to find the (almost) exact left fairing for my 1986 Honda VFR 700 on ebay. The only difference was that this fairing had screw in fasteners as opposed to the cam-lock style fasterners on the old one. I think it may have been because the new fairing was from a 1987…same paint. Somehow I also managed to pop something in my shoulder while positioning the fairing. It sucks getting old!

I haven’t updated my blog here in forever…so here is a short update. I had a nice boring weekend…shopping, doing chores, etc. On Friday night the boys and I checked out SanTan Brewery for dinner, a brew pub in downtown Chandler. The burgers there are excellent, but not as good as our reigning favorite, Deluxe. We were going to go to Sushi-Eye in Motion…but one glance in there scared us away. They have some sort of conveyor belt that saran-wrapped sushi rolls by on….the idea is that you are supposed to grab your sushi from the belt and each color coordinated dish has a different price. Well, we opted to wait a night and went to our usual Sushi Kee instead. Maybe its just me, but I’d rather watch the sushi chef prepare the fish I just ordered, rather than grabbing something form a conveyor belt.

Other than that it was the usual chores and food shopping. Ho Hum….
