I haven’t updated my blog here in forever…so here is a short update. I had a nice boring weekend…shopping, doing chores, etc. On Friday night the boys and I checked out SanTan Brewery for dinner, a brew pub in downtown Chandler. The burgers there are excellent, but not as good as our reigning favorite, Deluxe. We were going to go to Sushi-Eye in Motion…but one glance in there scared us away. They have some sort of conveyor belt that saran-wrapped sushi rolls by on….the idea is that you are supposed to grab your sushi from the belt and each color coordinated dish has a different price. Well, we opted to wait a night and went to our usual Sushi Kee instead. Maybe its just me, but I’d rather watch the sushi chef prepare the fish I just ordered, rather than grabbing something form a conveyor belt.

Other than that it was the usual chores and food shopping. Ho Hum….

The Boys and I went mountain biking today in South Mountain Park….it was in the mid 70’s here in the PHX and the desert was very, very green! We’ve had a wet winter so far and you can definitely tell from all the green in the desert hills. In a few more weeks we should have some nice desert flowers. Note the shorts and shirtsleeves…my apologies to those in colder climates…

This was the first chance we’ve had to really take the boy’s new bikes for a proper ride in the mountains. There were some challenges and at one point “Senor Sour” came out in full force (for those who don’t know, this is my son Alec’s alter ego…generally he arrives in moments of frustration). All in all, good times were had by all. It was an absolutely beautiful day here!

My brother came over this morning, resulting in yet another cheesy YouTube RockBand video.

Well….I officially have a teenager in the house! Happy 13th birthday Alec! We had a quiet celebration at home, then headed over to Delux Burger in Phoenix for dinner; Alec’s (well truth be told…all of our) favorite burger joint. Alec had a good day…although he was a little dismayed with the fact that he had to go to school on his birthday, but all in all I’d say he had a pretty good day!
